at least your fuse blew! I somehow shorted mine and damaged something, now I've got about 5V on that circuit and not 12, my vanity lights, mirror lights, and glovebox light are very dim. the underhood light didn't work at all, I had to run my own power to it.

yep. I've got the shop manuals, a good meter, and I know my way around electronics. this happened back when I first had the car, nearly 4 years ago. I traced the problem pretty much back to the IP electrical center, and beyond that decided not to investigate further, I just ran a new wire from power with a 1A fuse and was done with it. it wasn't until a while later that I discovered the problems with everything else attached to that circuit. I just haven't gotten back to try to fix it.
