Follow the wires and see what it connects too then whatever numbers or identification is on that device, do a search on it. I would suspect a brain type device in the passenger footwell but see where that ribbon cable goes.
Why don't you send an image to DEI and see what they say?

I would bet money it's some sort of alarm interface . maybe to turn off or on a particular sensor. I have been out of the business for a while But Directed Electronics was a big supplier of alarms and alarm accesories. Never knew them to do a lot more.
I think it's part of the alarm system. I didn't hit warp speed when I was driving : ) But I did find a hypertech programmer in the back and the 12 disc cd player as well.
