Default Windshield VIN # partially covered up? Help!

Ok, this is odd. There is a small piece of paper covering part of my VIN# in the windshield. I am trying to figure out how to get it out of there. Do I have to take the dash cover off? This really sucks. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Mark

Compressed air, coat hanger with a piece of bubble gum on it, or a piece of tape rolled backwards on it so it will stick etc. etc.

I have done that on purpose on my Z, no need for prying eyes to see my VIN.

Ummm, OK. With your VIN number, a correct key can be cut and your car stolen by merely getting in and driving off. Does it happen often? Probably not, but why facilitate when a small, correctly positioned shield blocks it?

With a TOW TRUCK, they can drive up to your car and merely drive off.

Better keep your Vette inside your garage 24/7/365.

They can bust your garage when you're gone.

Better have a cop with a dog on duty 24/7/365.

With your license plate they can run a DMV check on your car and get the VIN and have a key cut, and steal your car. Better cover up those license plates as well!!

In many states (like Texas), that info is not available. Besides, with a cop and dog in the garage, what could go wrong?

The 100% cheapest and best way to avoid theft is to not buy a Vette.

You can't just show up with a VIN and get a key cut...just about any locksmith/dealer will require you to show the registration/ID

When the regulations or law is followed, yes. That always happens.
