Default Automatic transmission leak additive

Hi, just wondered what your thoughts are on products like 'wynnes automatic transmission leak sealer fluid'. I have a relatively small leak, and have never really considered using something like this. But has anyone tried them, after all they are designed for this application.

I've never used any additives in anything I own as I see hem as bandaides for a more serious problem. I might consider it in an old work truck for the farm but never my Vette.

the trouble with bandaid fixes like this is that the bandaid could come off at the worst possible time.

where exactly is it leaking?

An old time mechanic once told me " Son, there ain't no magic fix in a can for a fluid leak ". If it is thick enough to plug a leak, then it is thick enough to stop up other fluid passages in the transmission. It all depends on how bad the leak is and it's location. Is it losing a couple of drops a day, or is it losing a 2" puddle of fluid a day ? Rebuilding a tranny that has run dry on fluid is much more expensive than fixing a leak.

I would'nt put any sealer in my trans, all that stuff does is make the rubber gaskets swell and eventually the trans is slipping or not shifting at all.
But its your call so good luck on whatever you do.
