I have an 01 vert m-6, bone stock, 75k miles. Last Feburary I replaced my right rear wheel bearing, when I bought the car a year earlier you could occasionaly hear the bearing on a no load slow right hand turn. After I replaced the bearing I had about 4 months [started driving again about May 10] no bearing noise. In the fall I started hearing the bearing again under the same drive conditions. Bearing was from Advance auto and I believe the one I replaced was the GM original. I drive the car but not that hard, whats wrong? All bolts removed were torqued back to spec's, and rear end was aligned before bearing was replaced. 13000 miles since replacement. Correction slow left hand turn!!!

Reason: wrong turn direction
Hit any really big pot holes? i wouldn't think alignment would take one out. After all, the weight of the car puts a greater moment on the suspension than alignment. If you are sure it is the rear and it makes more noise when turning, about all it can be is a tire or that bearing.
The reason for my previous post is that I was so sure I had the same bearing go bad I bought one and made the swap. When I took it off, I realized it was Ok.Then I went on the search for the noise. My wife pointed out as the passenger that she thought it was more to the front. Took the front out sure enough it was bad.
No pot holes that I remember. After the alignment and before the bearing I did hit a good one in my own driveway, doing a hole shot and forgetting a fuel delivery truck had cracked a pie slice piece in my driveway. Dinged the rim & ruined a tire. It could be several months before I can drive and have a listen to make sure. I canm waiot but like to do all my fixs during the 4 to 5 months of down time. I'll be 62 this summer so I probably wont do anymore hole shots. Ya!
I replaced my rear wheel bearings from a noise I would hear at night going around one corner. Sure sounded like a bad bearing. New bearings did not solve it. I drained and refilled the differential fluid, which turned out to only a third of the volume that should have been in there but that didn't solve the noise either. At great expense, I had the dealer put in a brand new differential. This also did not solve the noise. Looking at the tires, there was slight cupping on them, so I bought new rear tires. Noise gone and lots of money from my wallet.
You have some great Corvette roads in Arkansas, kinda like Kentucky & Tenessee. I'm from Michigan and dont have those same kinda roads. Up North somewhat. 3/4's the reason to own one or two or more.
Well, I've only lived here since last May. Before, I was in Southern California. But, I'm learning my way around and enjoying the roads out here. It was a busy last year for me, retiring and moving way out here, building a garage addition to this home and so on. This year, lots of road trips will be taken or I hope too.
