Fuel door switch inoperable
My fuel door release switch that sits inside of the console does not work. I have to use the release cable inside of the trunk when I fill up. Has anyone else experienced this problem before? I'm thinking it's just a bad switch but wanted to get some thoughts from others first.
I tried a search but didn't come up with anything.
Car is an 02 ZO6.
Thanks!

mine would sometimes lock up in the severe cold. I tried removed the latch/pin mechanism and greased up the moving parts and that seemed to work a bit, although wasn't perfect. I did notice however that while pushing the button, and reaching out the window with my other hand I could get the door to open for me, so it seemed like something was just "catching" or binding.
Not sure if this pertains to you at all, but could help.

Check for fuse condition, and if that is NOT it then do a search for removing the center console and ensure that the harness is installed on the back of the switch.
If it appears to be, check for voltage there, and also check continuity of the switch while you are there.

Quote: works sometimes (rarely).

Check for good ground at G302, and 12V at Pin "A" on the connector.

Edit, Sorry bout that, ALLEGRO types faster than I do.
