Default B&B bullet catback

Just bought one of these. Install looks pretty straight forward on an otherwise stock exhaust but this is the first time I am going to be turning a wrench on the C5. I know that every single little thing on my C3 turns into a few days of work. Any surprised I need to look out for.

Good floor jack (s) large jackstands and wood blocks. You will need around 28-30" ground clearance at the rear end to do it. Jack and block carefully.

good to know,

i have already put together the wooden ramps and crosspieces that are put up on this site with a good set of 3 ton jacks so sounds easy. Nothing crazy mod wise yet. AFE intake and now this exhaust. Gonna leave it alone for a while.

Hey Baxsom

The install is very straight-forward: Just un-bolt the screws just after the H-pipe (where the stock mufflers are held) and bolt the resonator part of the Bullet first, then slip-on the tip section of the B&B bullet catback. Make sure you install the rubber-bracket holders on the steel brackets of the tips pipes....just bolt on and you're ready to MAKE SOME NOISE!

BTW I have the quad-tipped Bullets myself...AND LOOOVE THEM!!

These guys pretty much summed it up. Biggest thing is to take your time during alignment. Once you have the system installed tighten the flange bolts where the system hooks to the stock H-pipe. Next snug the clamps where the tip sections mount to the axle hoops so the tips will stay up but still can be moved by with a little force. Now check your alignment and adjust as needed. Once they are aligned you can tighten the clamps. If you have someone to hold the tips while you tighten the clamps it helps, but is not necessary. Last step is ENJOY!!!

One last thing, do not hesitate to call us if you have any questions.

Honestly I'd hold off until you have a proper x-pipe to install along with them otherwise you'll be duplicating your work shortly. I love my B&B Bullets now but when I first got them, the motorboat idle and crackle were damn near intolerable. I got a cut & clamp Corsa X-pipe from a forum member, and it helped the streetability a LOT.

Project is eventually going to be headers and LS6 intake to go along with it so the X pipe will happen then. I just found them for a pretty good deal so i went ahead and purchased. They may sit in the garage for a while but I sincerely doubt it. I mean who can sit there with a nice shiny new exhaust and not want to put them on. I do need to wait until my new sway bars come in so i wont be repeating work over and over and over again. I keep reading about how some people think that these are too loud. I figure that they cant be any louder than the sidepipes on the BB stingray. Wife absolutely hates it when i crank that up in the garage at 5am.

The hardest part was getting the tips even. I almost got then even then got tired of it. Then I put LT's on it and now it's almost impossible to get them striaght. At least for me.

First thing I would do after installing them is have a new hanger welded off the pipe. The B&B weld job with their hanger is crap and it will probably break. They might have upgraded how they weld theirs on in the last couple years though but keep an eye on it.
Most will never see their left/right side tips line up evenly.

Baxsom, if you plan to saw off the stock mufflers, then you won't need to jack the car up to unreasonable heights, since the BB are not all one piece.
If you really don't want to cut up the stockers (which are worth next to nothing) then go to a muffler shop.
I've done some really dumb things with cars, but trying to jack up the rear of a Corvette to 30 inches to save a near-worthless set of mufflers qualifies as way over-the-top for dumbness.
I'm sure some would disagree, but we need organ doners too.
