The carb number does not apply to the Z06... I put mine on anyway... they look pretty stock under there... Im hoping that a tech IF he calls me on them wont dig anydeeper that asking for the CARB number and wont read the fine print....
I ran Longtubes personally , but have seen several dyno results on the shorties. Ignore the haters espescially in your situation where it is a hassle to have long tubes. The short tubes are not far off Longtubes for peak power on engines running up to 450rwhp but tend to show less hp in the lower RPM.

I have ceramic coated B&B shorties, and a Callaway Honker CAI...both of which have CARB EO#'s, but both of which are not for the C5"Z" application. Just had my car smogged about a month ago, and I had those EO#'s ready to go...they didn't see the mods because they look fairly stock.
MTPZ06, if you have dyno numbers I'd like to compare. I have a '99 but I've added LS6 intake and unported heads as well as a cam very similar to the LS6 along with the longtubes. I'm guessing my longtubes are worth 25-30 rwhp over stock. I'd bet the shorties are half that which is fair.

Tuned by Ryne at CMS...he remarked that my car felt "strong" on the dyno, and he's on here all the time saying that his dyno is "stingy". Nevertheless, I was very pleased with his results.
so just honker intake and the shorty headers on an otherwise stock LS6 or do you have other modifications?
What type of dyno?
I don't have the numbers in front of me, but when I had mine tuned it was about 385rwhp and 395 rwtq(dynojet). Lots of low end, but my cam is a bit more tailored for torque vs. the LS6 cam. I've got the honker on mine as well.
I have B&B shortys on my 2000. Car made 398RWHP 390RWtorque with ported 243 heads and a mild cam. I live in California so long tubes are not an option. I like them they are one of the only tuned shorty headers out there I have found. They fit well and the quality is very good. Not as good as a long tube but better than stock and a are C.A.R.B certified. Car passes smog with no problems.
The shorty header is a good alternative for someone like yourself that doesn't what to deal with the emissions issue as all of the B&B C5 shorty headers are CARB certified, EO# D-506-2. If you need a CARB sticker with the EO# on it just let me know and I can out one in the mail to you.
As for performance increases you will not see as much as with a long tube headers but we did see increases that run from the low to upper teens depending on the year.

I just got my BBK shorties in the mail last week, I wanted longtubes, but I am poor. Some bros are coming over in a couple weeks to install. I think they might be OK for CA, but I may be wrong. I'll keep posted the results.

But truth is in the details... does that CARB extend to z06 models as well?
I do enjoy the headers.... looking down on them its difficult to tell if their stock or not.. I didnt have mine coated with teh "Chrome" like coating.. I used simple silver.. they look stock in there
