Default No clutch pressure..

A couple of weeks ago I started my car and was eventually successful at getting it into gear. When I checked my clutch fluid when I got home the reservoir was empty. I filled it up (did not bleed slave) and I was able to get into gear. I currently have a good level of DOT 3 fluid in the reservoir. Now today, when car ignition is off, I can build pressure. When ignition is on, pressure is gone (pedal-to-floor) and I can't get into gear; when I move the shift lever towards gear car starts to move forward. I slid under the car and noticed some fluid on the lower bell housing bolts. When I get done driving the car I notice a smell like burning brake fluid.

I already ordered a slave cylinder (and a remote bleeder), do yall think I can say with confidence that this is the problem?

Thanks for the help,
Colt

I'm not sure who yall is, hopefully he will respond. With regards to your question, the only one that can say the slave is bad with confidence is YOU. Unfortunately, you have to remove the inspection cover(means dropping the h-pipe) to see if you have a leaking slave.....if it is not already dripping. Also inspect the master and firewall area.......the fluid did not evaporate.

I would bet the farm on it. There are several good links on the forum that outline how to do this repair. It's tedious and time consuming but there are no special tools or knowledge necessary.
