What is the best shift kit to get for a daily driver and where to get it? (Yes Lucky, I already reprogrammed it with HPTuners) I want a kit with some upgrade parts like possibly springs, and the piston? to replace the plastic one I read on here that causes problems with age. Fluid and filter was changed about 40k ago so I'd like to do the shift kit when I change the fluid and filter again. I have put the kits in T400's and a 200R4 so am somewhat familiar installing them.

One kit comes with a video. Make sure you go back and reprogram the trans back to the stock shift pressure if you changed it as it can damage the trans with the kit and additional line pressure.
The hardest part is getting the accumulator cover back in place with the C ring.

My opinion is NO SHIFT KIT on any computer controlled LS trans---
Adding a mechanical shift kit makes the settings for line pressure and PWM and shift times permanent under ALL driving conditions---
Best is to tune it with your tuner to achive similar results and it will save your trans and lengthen it's life---
You won't get that hard shift as a kit would but really what are you after ?? My car after tuning will bark the tires in 2nd if I set it that firm---- To get great firm shifts you should
1. increase the line pressures- around 10% up to 200 lbs of TQ and 6% above that in the base pressure tables
2. set all the shift times to .20
3.( most important and best reults) remove about 22% from 5 lbs to the end of the table in both the positive and negative " force motor current" tables---removing more makes it firmer
4 finally for the TCC set the entire PWM min table to 90 and the max to 98
Thanks all. I will check my settings that are programmed now and adjust if needed. Probably skip the shift kit then. What parts need to be changed in the valve body for better durability? That was one of the reasons I was considering a kit.
Thanks again
