It's a little sad though to see our tech Johnny (the one installing the exhaust system in the pictures) in there. He unfortunately passed away from a sudden illness leaving two children, one not even born yet, and his wife behind.

50 HP increase with a cam only? I'd like to hear more about that.
You sound like a skeptic. I think it's quite possible because most guys don't have their car dyno tuned, pre-cam install. When you do the cam, most people make other small upgrades, like thinner gaskets for more compression, oil pump, etc, and then finish it off with a dyno tune. By the time it's all done, depending on grind, I think 50 HP is achievable. Honestly, I don't know for a fact, just an opinion.
First, buy a predator tuner and reflash your pcm. Second, purchase a Vararam cold air intake system. That may be all you need. It will certainly give you a big change in seat of the pants feel. Good luck!!!
Thanks to all of the forum members who have replied to my post.
After much review this is what I think I have decided to do:
1. Install the Vararam Intake
2. Install a cat back exhaust system w/X pipe (I think I am down to MagnaFlow or Corsa systems, but maybe Mid America Motorworks is in the mix too)
3. Send my ECM in for reprogramming and switch to 160 degree stat.
I know how these projects grow, so in the future may be long tube headers, heads and a cam.

UPDATE
I ordered the Vararam from Dennis at Double D Mods $249 shipped
I found a brand new (in the box) Magnaflow cat back exhaust system on ebay for $899 shipped. This is part #15660 which comes with the X pipe and quad tips. This is a savings of $350 over anything I have seen advertised.
I will pull my ECM and send it to Doug@ECS for reprogramming $149
Or at a 1/5 the price, at least do a cam install and gain a quick 50hp. (cost is similar to a typical cat-back system, but the power gain is throughout the entire powerband)
What's the hit in fuel economy, and what cams are recommended?
