bad codes dtc current steering sensor

thanks got codes dtc c1281c,dtc c1286c steering sensor bias malfuntion and steering sensor uncorrelated malfuntion could anyone direct me to which parts might be the problem or how to test them thanks barryz06

Easiest way to test is using a Tech2, but can be done using a multi-meter to test voltage change.

Suggest you pick up GM Service manual for procdures.

I had the same codes (c1281&c1286)after reading the shop manual, I took it to the dealers vette man. The steering sensor is abour $330 and 4hr labor. Ouch, but it solved the problum.

My local dealer did mine ~3 years ago. SWPS was $80. Labor was $240. Has it gone up that much?
