Hi guys I have a 99 Corvette and for some reason my spedometer just stopped working on me and the mileage isnt working either. When I first start the car all the gauges sweep as normal and everything works EXCEPT the spedometer and mileage. I changed my speed sensor and I know that is working correctly because when I put on cruise control it shows the MPH digitally. Do you guys think the cluster is bad?
If the cluster is bad can a dealer reprogram a used instrument cluster? Or is there a way to have it reprogrammed? If not is there anything I can switch over from my bad cluster to the used cluster to make my mileage correct?
The dealer cannot reprogram I have tried...There is a company called Advanced electronics remanufacturing technologies, http://www.aertech.com, they quoted me $66.67 plus shipping and it would take 2 days. They need the old and the new cluster to do this.
Check the connector on the differential and see if its still plugged in.
Yeah Im pretty sure its still plugged in because when I use cruise control it shows my MPH digitally.

Yeah we actually use AER alot here at my work. I work for a Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep dealership. I called them and they said that it is a "pitch cluster" and they can not reprogram it.
I thought I read somewhere that you can switch the board out for the mileage. Does anyone know anything about this?
If you find out which part of the board stores the mileage, keep me in the loop I went through this last year and nobody had an answer for me either. I had a problem with the amp for the speaker in the DIC

Well I found a place that will reprogram the mileage. They are called Specmo and they are in Michigan. They quoted me $85.00 to reprogram it and $10 for return shipping. BUT I am kind of worried. If AER cant do it I dont see how Specmo can.....Hmmmm
Thats funny, my dealer said specomo couldnt do it, BUT if they could it would be $285I couldnt understand how they could quote me a price for something that couldnt be done!...My dealer robs people obviously...

Yeah I dono. The lady I spoke with at AER was the one who refered me to Specomo. I called them told them who I was with and that is what she quoted me. Maybe its because I work for a dealer. But yeah seriously dealers are scandolous for the most part.
