Until I can afford light cannons, I'm thinking of installing Sylvania Silverstar bulbs. The packaging says the serivce life will be much shorter that OE bulbs.
The Silverstar Ultras I have are halogen, they've lasted a good while so far, year give or take so far. Mine was the dual pack you can get at Advance AutoParts/Autozone type places for around $30 or so. The previous owner had Sylvania "Cool blue" halogens in there before, very similar but not as bright, with a blue tint to the bulbs as the name would imply.
I plan to replace w/ the same Silverstar Ultras when these burn out.
Been running them for about 4 yrs. Bought some high beam bulbs installed in the low beam holder & there is a noticable difference. Had to do some trimming on the bulb itself, but it was pretty easy & worth it.

Anyone have experience with these?
I do....I drive 7 days a week either at night or before sun up. And, the life of Silverstars are a bit shorter but if you are not going with HID's, its worth the shorter life for better visibility.
