Just got my new BFG Drag radials today from Tire Rack (ordered 4/8/02 ground) and I would like to know if I have to heat cycle these tires. What is the proper way to break em in, if any. Thanks for the input guys/gals.
i hear you do a 10 second burn-out....followed by a 10 second pass....can you handle that?????

LOL!!! Can you handle it while your away and I'll be at Atco tuesday night???? You may have a topic paging yah!!!! Try not to sweat to hard!! ROFLMAO!!!!!!!
Today was really dissapointing with the rain and all. :(
No need to heat cycle them. In my own experience with them I have found that low tire pressure, around 13-17 works best (depending on track prep). I do very long smokey burnouts to get them good and juicey. Also the more they wear th ebetter they get. I basically run no tread BFG's. I drove them from Chicago to BG and back and after about 5000 miles on them they gave me a 60' best of 1.61 on 15 psi. This was a first pass and a long 10 second smoke show.
Best DR's I think there are.
opss to break them in jsut drive them around town, at least that is what I did or jsut do some nice burnouts with 'em.
Intel thanks, I drove around with my old ones alot too and they netted me my best of 1.59 with NO thread. I think though they are past there prime so I ordered new ones.
Mackey they are the same ones as I have now (315's)
Stealth C5, I do have new Nittos and Grand Sport Wheels 17x11 all ready mounted and ready. I heard a while back that BFG stoped making Drag Radials, That is why i got the nittos. I have friends that our runing nittos and love them.
Fred,I'm just trying to save you a waste of time and money, sell the new Nittos and wheels and get the CCW set up,I don't think you'll hook your car with it making as much power as it is with Nittos.Or listen to your friends, whatever you want to do.
Stealth C-5, I am going to try them out and if they don't work that great i might just use them as my normal driving tires and wheels on the street and get a matching set for the front. Then i will order a set of CCW wheels for the car for the track. I was thinking if i got 1.6 or so it should still be able to run 11.10 or better because the tires that brent is runing our taller. You know the HRE 20s don't hook at all neven from 60mph or more. You are most likely wright, But sence i have them i will try them out.:)
Nitto drag radials are fun for the street, I've used them on my daily driver all summer long for the last 2 years. They can be driven in the rain till the wear indicators show up. But if your just looking for track tires, without a doubt, the BFGs win.
Fred I think the BFG's are better then the Nitto's. I ordered mine from the tire rack and got them 3 days later. I hooked my best of 1.59 with my BFG DR's and I am mostly in the 1.6x range. Wish I could have hooked a good 60' when I raced Brent that night at E-Town. We should have a good time when we all come down to MIR on May 4th.
