they are the canisters... just back from the loose exhaust flange in the pic:
The light gray spots seen through the pipe openings are the actual pre-cat material. Close up:

Anyone know if the '99's had them? :confused:
Edit : In case anyone's paying attention, the 97-99's don't have the precats : "Factory Exhaust Headers for the 2000 Corvette are different than the previous 97 - 99 headers. The differences are due to the fact that Chevrolet has added a second set of cats' to meet more stringent emissions of several states."
Porbably most of you already knew that, but it's news to me! :)

I'm 99.9% sure you do not have them. Take a peak though to verify. Look at exhaust portion after manifold for pups.
