Default Tach Stopped Working

When I turn on the key the dial makes its normal sweep, but when the engine starts it sits on zero. The HUD tach reading works fine.

I have the following codes:
B0521 H Tachometer Signal Circuit Malfunction
B2860 H Telescoping Column Position Sensor Failure

The telescoping column works fine when I move the switch back and forth.

I reset the codes and the B0521 did not come back. The B2860 did come back with an "H."

Any ideas where should I start looking? Think there is any connection between the two codes?

The IPC receives engine speed data on two different inputs, form the PCM. One is a single wire, and the other is communicated via class 2. Probably why the HUD works, and the instrument does not. Sounds like you will have to check the wiring.
