Another A4 Trans cooler question
I see a lot of guys go with the B&M 70264 cooler rated 24,000 GVW.
Is the B&M 70266 better at 28,000 GVW? Jegs calls it a Racing Trans Cooler.
Someone had a link to an install, maybe it was WallstAl. Can you post it please?

After I rebuilt my 4L60E transmission..I opted for the deeper trans pan..holds extra 2 quarts...easy install and no problems:D

Too Large of a tranny cooler will not hurt you in the end. Over Cooling will cause the converter to lock and unlock.

Re: Another A4 Trans cooler question (REDGAR)
Good memory!
I sold the 70255 GVW, 16,000 lbs, thats enough cooling for a C5! With the addition of the new T/C, looks like I will have to purchase a new one. :)

Re: Another A4 Trans cooler question (wallstAL)
I have the B&M 24,000gvw cooler installed on my C5 now. I had the B&M 16,000gvw installed first but the trans temps were in the 240 degree range on a 70's day at a short racetrack. So, I installed the 70264. I haven't been back to see how good it is at cooling at the track now.

Re: Another A4 Trans cooler question (YELLOWDREAMZ)
My car has the B&M 70264 which uses barbs and clamps for fittings- easy to do, you may need to order extra hose (PermaCool sells it in the Jegs catalog). The 70266 "Racing Cooler" is a bit larger but requires threaded fittings and does not have the internal bypass (sorta like a thermostat).

Re: Another A4 Trans cooler question (Face)
I bought Al's cooler and those temps are in the 140-170 most days. I think it got to 190 during a fast 30 mile canyon run.
Seems to be a good cooler for normal driving.
