I been daily driving my 2001 C5 with 47k for about 6 months. Last month I got Low Oil Pressure coming up right after start up ...I ignored since Hypertech and gauges were fine..it went away for a week. came back I added a qt. and it went away till now. This time, for the first time, it came up while driving. I got 40-45 psi. on gauge! I do not want temp. fix..Please advise!
BTW, I know there are low oil pressure posts, but none of them do 40 psi, they are low 20's.

DoesnT sound like a head gasket problem. You need to find out if you are actually using oil, whether it is leakage or being burnt. It could be as simple as an oil level sensor failure or wiring.

How can I figure out if it is being burnt? If it is, what needs to be done?
I do not see any leakage under the car...but the oil is actually low once the DIC comes on, so it can't be sensors (right?)
If you can find no leaks and the engine is still coming up low, then yes it is burning it.About how many miles do you drive before you are a quart down?
