Default more issues. LS2 into C5

i got the extension harness for the cam sensor. it won't plug in. engine is out of an 05 GTO.

could it be the wrong timing cover/sensor? my PS pump bracket (ls1) is hitting the timing cover. so i can't bolt it on

Take a look at the sensor housing, there is that raised plastic mold inside the male housing that will only allow the plug to go into it a certain way,but your plug end doesnt have the notch the fit into it,possibly file down that part of the sensor housing so the plug will fit in,just my 2 cents!

raised ridge is inside the female connector (pic #3)....

but yea... what he said. its not gonna fit till you remove the ridge(pic #3)... or dremel (which is what i would do) a notch in the male connector(pic #1).

Before you start dremeling, don't you think he should check the Service Manuals for both cars to make sure they are both wired alike?

I think you are missing the short harness

DO NOT try and modify it find the right plugs.

If I read correctly that your LS1 power steering/Alternator bracket is hitting the timing cover it's either going on wrong or the timing cover needs to be changed.

GTO pulley layout has crank at bottom, water pump slightly higher than Corvette, and power steering pump/alternator are flipped with alternator down low and PS pump up high. When I put a LS3 in my 02 Z06 I used my LS6 front/rear covers and all my stock LS6 accessories, bolted right up with no issues at all.
I would do more research before assuming the timing cover needs replaced but seems odd your bracket hits it...

Perhaps a photo???

I just got off the phone with my buddy that's doing the work. Turns out he was trying to bolt it up in the wrong spot. Now it's bolting up fine in regards to the timing cover, but it's hitting my turbo.

From my above link

"You'll have to ask Caspers if their extension is meant to plug straight into the LS2 cam sensor (ie throw the short GM extension away) or into the end of the short GM extension.

The female socket on the end of the GM extension looks the same at a glance as the actual cam sensor socket....but it's not. [So yes you might need the GM short extension for the Caspers extension to work]."
