4th gear pull and got Code P0300 for the first time.
So I was cruising on a HW at about 230am and decided to drop down to 4th gear and punch it since it was empty, it was a long straight strech and hadnt felt the power of the car in a little while.
To my surprise mid way thru the pull the car stuttered/bucked and felt an imediate loss in power. Mean while I started seeing the code P0300 (ENGINE MISSFIRE) on the DIC and also my Check Engine Light started flashing. I imediately let off and cruised. This lasted about 15-30 sec. And its the only time the car has ever behaved like that.
The car seemed to run fine after that without any issues.
Any input anyone as to what could have beent the cause of this happening like that?
How old are your spark plug wires? Check to be sure all 8 are snapped onto the connectors on each end. I had the same issue after my header install and it ended up being a broken plug wire on #7.

I checked the plug wires visually and they looked fine, will check again.
What Im not sure I understand is how it happened that one time for just a couple of seconds and now the car is like it never happened....

If you can't get it to repeat the original issue, resnap all plug wire connectors and keep an eye on it. Mine was intermintent too until the wire failed completely.
do yourself a favor and change all the wires. while doing my headers... i discovered that 3 of the boots were broke and the wires only barely in there. i dont know why i never had a misfire... but yea, the wires were toast.
The same thing happened to me and some of the plugs were shot so i replaced them all, i had added octane booster after a mistake at the pump where i got 87 instead of 92 octane the plugs were a orangish color and gaps were incorrect.
So maybe pull a plug or two and check what they look like they'll tell a story.
Thanks guys, its weird cause so far it hasnt happened again..... will keep an eye on it.
P0300 is the code for "Random Misfire Detected" keyword being random so it will not be consistent. As others stated above, wires and plugs are a good start to check.
