Default 99 FRC radiator removal

Does the radiator remove from the top or bottom? I've got mine on the lift and see much crap in between the condensor and radiator I might as well clean it out. I've also got to change the A/C compressor Will the radiator being out help this challenge? Thanks

The radiator removes from the top, biggest challenge is removing electrical harness clips from the fan.

It is a Pita but yes, it will come out from the top. Rremove the air-bridge and if you have the stock air filter box, that needs to come out as well. Remove the top radiator cover. Move the condensor forward. Remove the hoses after draining the coolant of course. Disconnect the fan connectors and start working the fan up assembly up and out. You'll see its attached to the radiator on the side with slide in clip type things. Once the fan assembly is out, then you'll be able to pull the radiator.

What HE said.

Btw, do NOT lose/misplace the round rubber lower radiator cushion/mount that's used under the right side. It needs to be reinstalled into the round hole in the lower support for the pin on the radiator to go back into.

I have left the fan assembly in the car when I pull the radiator out. It just sits in tabs on the radiator. A little tight getting the radiator up and out though.

It looks like it might come right out the bottom with the fans attached is that not the case? I was reading another post about holding the radiator up when changing the support. My support is bent so I was thinking pull it and the radiator together might not be a bad idea. Thanks

Give it a shot, and report back how it goes for you.

It should come out from the bottom fairly easy but I've not tried it myself yet.

I took mine out from the top, I believe the manual does if from below, but I don't have a lift, so top it was. Pretty easy, only hard part was unhooking the wire connectors.

The 97-2000 manual says to "lower the radiator from the vehicle". The 2001 + manual just says "remove the radiator from the vehicle".

my friend and I replaced my radiator (it leaked) and his (upgraded cooling). There are detailed instructions and pics in the autocrossing section. (Do a search). Both of upgraded radiators (me=Witt, him=other). Both of them were removed from the top due to the radiator sitting on the support "plug".
