I have a 04 GTO with 243 heads and baby cam and still running the LS6 c5 z06 clutch. I don't drag race however it has seen many WOT runs, and street abuse without a hitch. I'm at 394rwhp
a ls6 clutch will do fine
Until it doesn't..... Just sayin', many LS6 clutches have failed at even stock HP level. Mine went south at about 450, but over the years, I've read dozens of threads of LS6 failure. I wouldn't spend good money on a bad clutch. LS7, at least. You have the aluminum FW option.
For under 400hp the LS6 clutch would be better than the LS7. Even Ranger a notable 1/4 mile expert and record setter liked the LS6 clutch better for near stock HP levels at the drag strip.
Having used both clutches, albeit different applications, the LS6 clutch is more friendly at the dragstrip.
