I just recently purchased a mirror turn signal kit (from corvette museum store). I was reading the how to, and noticed you had to take the doors apart. So I thought why not get some better components and do sound deadening while I am at it. The only thing, I don't know the first thing about audio. I am looking for components that have good midrange and bass. Suggestions?

the c5 has amplified 8" subwoofers in the doors that run off a bose amp.
if you have an aftermarket stereo, you probably already lost these. the front speakers that run off the stereos internal amp are 3.5" i believe..
i would reccomend going to the auction site and looking up speaker plates or speaker adapters for c5 vettes and put a set of 6.5" component speakers in it. I really like the sound of MB Quart's, they sound GREAT for the money. but remember, any 6.5" aftermarket speaker should sound tons better than that bose setup if you have an aftermarket head unit.
