Default Newby NO START HELP !! Please

HI guys!! I have a 2003 Z06, Ive owned for 2 weeks!! I was experiencing random no starts, so I replaced the Ignition switch today. The car now cranks over but I have two new problems that I think are related. First the car chimes with door open, eben with no key in the ignition. Second I get a "Remove key wait 10 Seconds" . The casr starts runs for 3 - 5 seconds then shuts down. ANy Ideas? I have tried the VATS relearn, didnt seeem to help. Also pulled fuses 25 and 29, still same issues. Finally the codes I am getting are P1571, BO432 and U1040 all current. Thanks for any help, I really want to get her oout on the road, LOL

Check your battery cables. What voltage do you read at the battery?

Also, are you reading the codes from the DIC or a scanner?

I am showing 11.86v at the battery. Probably from fooling around all afternoon. Will low voltage send the remove key message? Or cut fuel?

I was pulling the codes form the DIC

Either way, you need to start with a fully charged battery, so that's first.

It does not sound like you have a fuel cutoff issue, as that typically happens when you try to move the car...not stationary.

The fact that the car starts, no security light, and no VAT codes, suggests that the relearn procedure was successful.

Did you replace the whole ignition switch, or just the lock cylinder? Were the parts new?

I replaced the switch only not the cylinder, it was new from Borg-Warner. The security light is on when the door is open, which is normal i believe. But it also makes a dinging like the key is in ignition, eben when ignition is empty. As for the fuel, the car starts runs fine, then the "remove key" message, traction control light and abs light all come on at exact same time and I can hear a click and the car shuts down. This happens about 3 to 5 seconds after cars fires up

Sure sounds like a lock cylinder issue, since the chime sounds with no key installed. Check codes again. I can't believe it's not throwing more.

That is kind of what I was thinking, but trying to avoid just throwing money at it. I am assuming that the stealership is the only place to get the new cylinder, then probably needs programming?

Thanks for the help by the way

ok.. an update for now. After much help troubleshooting from Lucky131969 we narrowed down the possible culprits to my problem getting worse to either the newly installed ignition switch, or the key cylinder. This morning I removed new switch to re-install old switch to double check symptoms. When I removed the new switch I noticed that the male pins were differrent, the factory unit had one more than the new one from O'reillys. SO off to the dealership to by a factory unit tomorrow. I'll keep you posted

Can't take any credit for the find. The OP did all the work, I just provided the schematics.
