Radiator Shroud Problems...

Radiator Shroud Problems...
I am currently installing the vararam intake. I am at the point to reinstalling the radiator shroud. I can not get those PITA plastic white clips to go in on the sides. Ive tried for the past hour and broke one of them. 
Is there an alternative?? Cant I use a bolt with a nut and washer?

It is a pain. Simply because there is not much room for where the ducts fit. My biggest pain was reversing the bottom screws on the front screens inorder for the ducts to fit over. Its such a tight area to fit a wrench. I had to trim the rubber gasket that goes between the duct and filter inorder for a proper fit, that only required a scissors to trim around the edges. Other than that it wasnt bad.
I started it up and let it run for a about 10 min. No codes, so far.
I rev'd it up a bit and it had a cool whistle sound. Cant wait to see the what happens at WOT.
Overall it took a total of 5 1/2 hours to do. And I am a rookie when it comes to cars.

I didn't think you'd get a whistle though. Sure that isn't a gasket leak? I wonder if there's a way to check?

Finished my install last week.I left battery off until yesterday and drove it today with no codes on a 45 minute trip each way.Only thing im workin on is a slight gap between air tube and fog light bezel.

I can only hear the whistle when I am standing still and rev it. No whistling at idle. The whistle isnt loud.
After driving it around for atleast 30min I noticed a big power difference after 3500rpm.
Currently I still have the crappy old run flats that are bald. Before the intake I could spin the wheels going in to 3rd gear. I did a hard pull, got to 4th gear and after 3500rpm in 4th gear the wheel started spinning.
