Default Shocks upgraded sway bars next

98 vert with stock FE1 suspension. Put C5 Z06 shocks in and noticed better ride already. They are about 1/2 thicker than the stock ones I replaced. Old shocks weren't leaking and still expanded after compressing but C5 Z06 seem to give a smoother and more controlled feel especally around curves. Used the McRat method and only thing different from Patrick's instructions were using a jack under the rear control arm to slightly bring arm up to allow the 24mm bolt to slide in with no pressure removing and installing the bolt. Didn't have any 24mm sockets but got a deep 6 point one at H F for 2.99 and a 3/4" 12 point socket (almost the same size as 24mm) for 1.99. Zip ties to compress the original shock and the replacement ones are exactly what you need to hold compressed shocks for removal and installation.
Took about an hour per wheel including jacking, removing and installing each wheel, unbolting and reattaching each shock, and cleaning up calipers and other parts in each wheel well before replacing each wheel.

Now I will replace stock sway bars and plastic end links with C5 Z51 bars and aluminium end links.

Sounds like a nice mod. I wouldn't use the C5 Z51 sway bars. The C6 Z51 sway bars are a much better choice for the C5.
