Just got back from the shop. As soon as I looked under the car I could see that the wiring going to the transmission had been tampered with. We traced it back to the battery. We took the battery and the battery box out and the wiring from one loom had all been spliced back together and you could see stains all over the frame from acid. The rest of the loom looks undamaged. You cold not see any signs of it until you took out the battery box. It was obvious that the car had been damaged by a leaking battery and been repaired. One of the wires from the original repair had broken along with a couple of other wires and someone had ran a new wire to the transmission because they didn't see the repair either. It also might explain why we are having a blinker issue all of this time one of the broken wires is a yellow one but there are several yellow wires so I am not sure that is our problem. I had been looking at the back of the car and the interior of the car and the issue is actually under the battery. He told me that it looks to him like it was possibly repaired by a dealer or a shop because of the way it was done. He said it is common for shops to splice the wires an solder them instead of replacing the whole harness when this happens. He was obviously very knowledgeable about the wiring so I am going to have him help us fix the car. I am leaning towards replacing the harness and fixing it right so this doesn't happen again. I got a hold of the seller and he has agreed to help pay. Honestly I am surprised that everything in the car works except the blinkers and and the wiring to the transmission. We checked the car from top to bottom and can't see anything else that has been touched or damaged. I want to thank all of the guys who helped us again. We really appreciate all of the time you spent trying to help us figure this thing out. Now at least we have a better idea what we are dealing with and can try to get this thing fixed.

Good to hear you found the issue. Hope the repairs go well. I have done wiring repairs lots of times and my repairs will work just as good as the original wiring. I would solder the wiring and use double-wall heatshrink tubing.
However, replacing the harness could just be better if there are a bunch of repairs and it's already a hack job.
The only time I would consider a solder and heat shrink joint to be an issue is wiring where it flexes, because the spot where solder ends on a wire is more susceptible to breaking. The connection will last just fine as long as the shrink tube supports it and the wire is not expected to flex.
Yea your probably right. That would definitely be an easier option. That is the way they are fixed now The first thing we need to do is try to get it all sorted out and re solder all of the broken wires and figure out why they ran the other wire for sure so we can see if it fixes the problems. I hate trying to figure out what someone else did and why they did it I think the reason a couple of them eventually broke is from the way they re loomed them all. From looking at the wires I could see I am not sure there isn't another problem with the blinkers somewhere else but I am hoping that there is not. I have my fingers crossed. I have built cars and raced cars all of my life. I build engines and pretty much do everything. I already did a heads and cam on my car and all kinds of upgrades. but I never messed with wiring unless it was the normal stuff. I just never got into it. I learned allot doing this and I am sure I will learn more before it's done. I just hope eventually we can get it all figured out. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks again for all of your help.
I'm having a similiar issue and found that the socket and bulb connection is not tight and the light comes on and off with some pressure and adjusting.
Good luck, mine appears to be somewhat corroded and the socket may require replacement.
