Which would be better for an 2002 A4?? SLP's is half the cost of a Granetelli. Both claim 12-20 HP. Some claim they work, some have them sitting on the shelf in the garage. I already have a blackwing and don't plan any other mods (except exhaust) for sometime due to funds and warranty issues.
What's the difference between a MAF and a MAFT?? Would one be better than the other?
Whatever opinions you have are always appreciated :yesnod: Thanks
Don't know much about the SLP. You can get the Granatelli tuned for the extra air of the Blackwing or other aftermarket air intake. Jus add C to the part #. I have them at a great price.
 :bs Spend your money on a power loader. I have a G.M.S. maf and I didn't get any 12 to 20 hp. I have also been told that if you power load your car it runs better with the stock maf. Power loader around the same price as a MAF. Just my $.02
If your car have a correct air/fuel ratio you would gain 0 like most of us have discovered. Those who see gains with a larger diameter MAF or MAF ends most likely had wrong air/fuel ratio from the beginning and got it right with a different MAF.
DRM pulled 586hp/557ft/lbs with my stock MAF (no screen, 2000 model) on my new 427 engine. They added a Z06 MAF which have a larger diameter and the MAT sensor integrated but could not find any more hp on the engine dyno.
I went with the Z06 MAF because it's a much better design with the integrated MAT sensor, you only have to get a adapter cable to use it on a 2000 or older C5(I do not know about the 2001/02). It also looks better because you get rid of the old MAT sensor sticking out from the side of the Airbridge.
You have a 2002 and probably already have a larger diameter Z06 style MAF. My recommendation would be to get a PowerLoader II or have your car tuned on a dyno, I think it would give you the most. If a 586hp car do not gain anything with a larger MAF what could a stock engine gain ?
Paul,
Before you purchase either MAF contact Julio Hormilla @ CARTEK in Garwood NJ. He explained a lot about air flow and screens and such to me on Saturday. I think you would be better off with Julio putting your car on his dyno and tuning your set-up. Ph# 908-317-4496. JMHO :D  :flag
Try a MAFT before the other two. We have them in stock. Dyno tune with it and adjust for a lean or rich condition in percentage and unlike the pre- calibrated aftermarkets MAFs, it's adjustable.:)
If you have a 97-00 LS1 and plan on a head/cam/manifold swap, get the SLP unit to bump up in MAF size. We have those as well. No head/cam/manifold swap plans? MAFTranslator.
..or, let Cartek dyno tune with LS1-Edit as Jim Dawes said. More money but top notch work.

NEITHER....de-screan your stock MAF....gain the 3-7 detonation free HP from it and spend your $$$$ on a power adding mod!
