Default What metal are the 97-00 TPMS valve stems made of?

Was going to replace valve caps on my 98 vert with metal ones. When I looked at some found the words DO NOT USE ON ALUMINIUM VALVE STEMS on both chrome and steel caps. Had the silver plastic ones from the factory for several years and replaced them with metal ones with plastic inserts. The plastic deteriorates and does not hold on to the metal cap. Was going to use metal caps but now I wonder if the chrome or steel caps will cause galvanic action with the stem. What metal is the stem made of and what are my options short of using some with plastric inserts which will deteriorate like the current ones?
