Default Mod drivetrain or more ponies for top end speed?

My goal in life is to have a 200 mph car. I believe given the aerodynamics of the Corvette Coupe that this is feasible with an engine output of 500 hp maybe less. Winston Cup Cars turn near 200 with restricted engines in the vicinity of 450 to 500 hp and I don't believe they are as aerodynamic. My question is should I stick primarily to engine mods or is there a drivetrain mod like a TC that would help.

I'm thinking Blackwing, new bridge and coupler, larger throttle body, LS6 intake or the Holley Version, Hypertech powerprogrammer, headers, X pipe, and Borla Stingers to start.
I have a 2.73 rear end so revs aren't going to be a problem. I also plan to put on front screens and tape them off (ala Winston Cup).

Possible or am I going to need more.
It's only 30mph faster than I've already taken her! How hard can that be? :D

Although I can say that should something go awry during the attempt many precautions will be taken to ensure the only casualty will be me (the d**k behind the stick). :blueangel:

Good luck in your top speed run and by all means, be careful! Honestly though, I doubt you'll get to an actual 200 MPH with the mods you have listed. I think you're going to need better flowing heads and a different cam along with those mods to achieve those speeds. Anyway, good luck.

Just curious...but why the push for 200 MPH? Most people here are looking for acceleration, which is something you could use just about any time you want. We have enough HP to make 200, but doubt I would try.

Don't forget about tires, even if you plan to spend a very short time at top speed to avoid arrest.

I don't save it for the track--I save it for Nevada. :)
