DIY M6 seal change
Looking for your thoughts!
Also, can anyone recommend competent dealer service shops in the Columbus, IN to Indy, IN area?
Thanks!

It was pretty easy, but it took me a while to get it done. Here's what I did:
I put the car up on 4 jackstands
Drained tranny fluid
Unbolted diff from subframe (two bolts beneath it)
Unbolted the tranny at the leaking area
Then I just pulled the diff back to split the tranny open, leaving a couple of inches to work with (I also had a jack supporting front part of tranny)
Cleaned the surfaces with degreaser
Applied factory GM sealant on the surface, a little thicker and heavier than the existing seal was
Bolted everything back together and waited a little while to let cure
Filled tranny up with Mobil One Synthetic and haven't had a problem since
I know this probably isn't the way you're supposed to do it, and I didn't torque everything back exactly (no room for torque wrench), but heck it works with no problems.
