If your car is stock, you have bolts, not studs..........unless head work was done before, and studs were installed.

I would put a set of GM MLS head gaskets on. They will work fine with your setup and are fairly inexpensive. We have them in stock. I believe they are $49.99.
I am glad you posted this, a buddy has a C5 z06 and is getting ready to do a cam and head swap. He is giving me his 02 z06 cam and heads for a great price so you just saved me some research.
I have an LS6 shortblock in my shop, cleaning up the deck surfaces in preparation for head install. Getting that old graphite stuff cleaned off is a real bear. No nicks on the decks thus far, going nice and slow using a plastic putty scraper and paint thinner.

I wouldn't waste the time putting that z06 cam in now is the time to get yourself a stout cam....... if your going to do a cam swap why not go with something thats gonna yield some more horses
5.3 guys like those z06 cams they make nice turbo cam in a 5.3
