Default what is this???

Alright I am helping a friend fix up his vette... while driving it I heard a vacuum leak.

It is a 1998 manual transmission

So i pulled the covers of and on the drivers side of the motor near the back i found this...

I am not exactly sure what this is. There is no vacuum coming out of it but I can hear a hissing noise coming from the back of the motor near the oil pressure sending unit...

Any ideas on what it is and where I need to plug it back in.

What year is the car? No clue what it is but look at the MAP sensor at the rear of the intake. The usual cause back there is a small black plastic line which connects from there to the HVAC system but if its off, you'll be having issuses with the HVAC. Have you pulled your codes yet?

sorry i should have posted that it is a 1998 manual transmission and it is having problems with the a/c... he needs a new blower motor.

Also there were a ton of history codes that I am searching through but only two current codes... i dont have them written down write in front of me but I know they had to do with the knock sensors...

That sounds right to me... I am gonna research more.

Anyone know where the other end of that vacuum tube plugs into?

Do I need to take off the intake mani to plug it back in?

It looks like it's just sitting there. I mounts along the fuel rail. I'm surprised you don't have any EVAP related codes.

well i think i found out what the hissing noise was on the back of the manifold... it was for the vent blend doors... I plugged it in, cleared all the codes and drove around for a while and now I am getting a new code

p1441

would that be related to this purge solenoid not being hooked up right... or me finally plugging up that hissing noise on the back of the manilfold... oh and the a/c blend doors are still not working right

Evap for sure, bet the I/M monitor for the EVAP system does not pass and there are probably evap codes and maybe an occasional CEL.

Somone's been hacking on this car and has all the vacuum hoses f'ed up.
