gear ratio vs rpm question...
1st, Thanks for all the help, all the time on the Forum. Don't know if this is the right place for the question, but I'm sure someone will tell me...
I just went to a SuperCharger so I didn't have this problem before, might have it now.... need to know what speed I will be at in 3rd, (automatic) at 6000 RPM's with 373 gears?? I want to know if I can leave it in 3rd all the way thru the traps in the 1/4 mile, or will I have to shift it into overdrive? I know, it's been asked before probably, but I want to ask anyway.... i don't have the info.... Thanks again...Gohard,

You should be OK up to 135mph with 3.73 and a 26" tire. I doubt you need to be concerned with running out of gear, but you definitely don't want to shift OD in a 1/4. You should take all steps possible to avoid it, such as higher rev limit, or taller tire.

Also depends on your TQ converter---If you have a stall it will overrev past the mathematics indicated---but according to my EFILIVE software it says that with a 26" tall tire and 3.73 gears it will hit 124.5 MPH at 6000 RPM's in 3rd---as mentioned i wouldn't want it to shift into 4th either so i would just set the 3-4 RPM shift point up higher
