2000 coupe- just driving around today and the back right sway bar snapped.
How easy is this to change?
Whats involved? It looks rather simple.
How much?
About an hour and a half - dump the plastic end links too
Just replaced my stock shocks and sway bars. Put the car on ramps for the sways. Got Z51 sways on parts for sale and also aluminiun end links. Ditch those plastic ones front and back. Wrapped the bar at the bushing with 3 layers of regular teflon tape like that used for plumbing. No squeeks and much better handling. Used Z06 shocks too.
Try the McRat method to install. Do ONE THING AT A TIME. Won't change alignment either. Last bar I broke was a torsion bar on my 78 Chrysler. Car felt like a clown car in the circus.
Sway bars are fairly easy to replace. I would go with C5Z06 sway bars, $318 from Gm parts house if you need new end links, $226 without. There is a good pictorial and writeup on LS1Howto.com, that is what I used a few years ago.
Think I will go with all new front and rear for the price.
One question-
Is it safe to drive for a week untill it gets fixed? Drove it home 10 miles or so after it happend and there were no issues what so ever.

Thanks all-

Yes--very easy front or rear. Had my front off today and it was a lot easier than the shocks but the aftermarket oil cooler lines were an issue. For the rears, if you do oil changes, I think you can do this.
