My 98 always did that when the freon needed charged. Do a search ,this problem has many many threads on it.

First thing is to check your codes on the DIC, then report back, also note if the codes have a H or C after them (if you have any).

The electronic vacuum selonlid is under there. Just get under there and you will see it, maybe a loose hose or something. Also check and see if you can change where the air comes out, defrost, middle, floor. Hope this helps. But first, see if you can change the air flow locations, if they don't change then you know you have a vaccuum leak and will need to take a look under the passenger area.

You prob have two problems.Repair the vacuum leak first, then fill the system to specs,it is probably slightly low on freon.

The vacuum signal is only used to control where the air comes out from. It has nothing to do with how cold the AC blows. When the vacuum is lost the air will blow out of the defrost vents and floor vent only.
