Default Question Regarding Choosing A Cam!

Hey CF I have a question for you guys regarding cam selection. I own a 99 C5 Corvette FRC M6. These are my current mods:

----------
1. SLP Donaldson Black Wing Air Intake w/ Smooth Bellows

2. Kook 1 7/8" Long Tube Headers w/ 3" x 3" Off Road X-Pipe

3. Borla Stingers Exhaust

4. Evil Performance Ported & Painted (Gloss Black) LS6 Intake Manifold

5. Evil Performance Ported LS6 Throttle Body

6. Corvette Garage E2 Tunnel Reinforcement Plate w/ Thermal Cover

7. ECS Transmission Brace

8. Pfadt Transmission Mount

9. C6 Z51 Front/Rear Sway Bars w/ Pfadt Poly Bushings & GM Metal End Links

10. C5 Z06 Shocks & C5 Z51 Springs

11. MGW Short Throw Shifter

14. C5 Z06 Motorsports Chrome Wheels (17x9.5 & 18x10.5) w/ Nitto NT555 275-40-17 & Nitto NT555RII 305-35-18

15. Lowered On Stock Bolts

(I know some of the mods listed are unnecessary for this question but I figured I would list them for organizational purposes for me lol)
----------

I am planning to purchase an A&A V-2 Si-Trim Supercharger Kit in the future, possibly a year or so from now. But at the moment I am looking to upgrade my Heads and Cam. I have decided to pick up some Precision Race Components Stg 2.5 LS6 Heads from Texas Speed.

Any suggestions on what cam would be best that will get me decent numbers N/A as well as be compatible and produce good gains from the blower kit once I get that in the future (year or so from now)? Doing some research, I've seen some decent results with 224/228 114 LSA cams (on LS1Tech) (was also the recommended cam for my application) but I'm honestly not sure which is why I am seeking guidance. I would like some lope but with a decent idle and not to difficult to drive. Just wanting to hear different viewpoints from you all. If you guys can lend some knowledge I would really appreciate it. Thanks a lot. Hope you all are having a great weekend.

I have the Texas Speed 228R and really like it, there's a lot of info on the 228R if you search Google and YouTube.

Yep, I have. And I have heard amazing things about the 228r (being N/A). Right now 224/228 114 LSA seems to be decent after doing some searching around. I have done a fair share of looking at various cams but haven't seen enough to confirm my decision which is why I want to hear some thoughts from you guys. N/A I know a cam like the 228r will be a healthy performer and be easily streetable. If I wasn't going F/I, I would probably be looking at a G5X3, MS3 or MS4 cam. But from what I've heard, those cams are not recommended in regards to working with a blower. Also, since a supercharger is not something that will be here soon on my car, instead of picking up a nice blower cam from, lets say ECS (Amazing F/I cams; not sure how they perform N/A), I am looking for something that will produce great performance N/A and still be a high quality performer when I step into F/I within the next couple years (if at all possible).

Thanks again guys for helping! Feel free to post your thoughts!

I completely forgot all about this cam (How could I ). It sounds completely sick, and if I remember correctly I have seen some amazing results come from it both N/A and F/I. I remember reading a few threads back a couple years or so ago about it and thought to myself what an awesome cam. Good find sir! This EPP blower cam is definitely going to be considered.

I recently downsized my cam to add the same blower kit, and I wish I'd have gone bigger. I got a 224-232@116, and you can barely tell it's cammed. That EPP one sounds about what I'd get if I had a do-over.

I've been doing a lot of searching (CF and LS1Tech) looking at different testimonials and results from the EPP blower cam (N/A and F/I) and I will say that it seems to be pretty impressive. It is the one I am leaning towards the most right now. I will continue investigating and talk with my tuner about it and see what I come up with. But seriously that chop/lope + blower whine = :drool lol. It is a likely decision.

I just installed an epp blower cam and an a&a p1sc kit on my 02 zo6 and it sounds amazing even untuned. I get tuned this Thursday so I will post numbers and a video for you. I took the car around the block and got up to about 45mph in 6th gear (very slowly and carefully of course) and it didn't even bog or surge at 1100 rpm. It's a great cam

Congrats man! I'm sure that is going to be a beast . That would be awesome if you could post the graph and video. I'd love to see the powerband and curve. Let me know after the tune how the car idles as well as your thoughts on driving impression. That might be my decision maker! Thanks a lot sir!
