2. pull the connector apart (it's easiest to see while standing in front of the car, on the left side where the light is). The connector is fastened to the cowl, towards the ground. Spray the connection with electrical cleaner.
The 2nd option worked for me. When you see where it's located and how it's oriented you'll see why it fills with water and sand and gets corroded. If it's not the bulb, disconnect it, clean it, and put it back together and it will probably work.
If your vanity mirror, rear view mirror or compartment light work it's not a fuse. If they don't check fuse 2 inside fuse panel. Check the harness bottom lower right of the hood to ensure it's plugged in. Check the lamp with an ohm meter. If all that checks out it could be the switch which I beleive is built into the fixture.
I posted the same problem and got some excellent information. Everything you have gotten so far is true. I had voltage across the fixture but it was only 10 volts. To see if the problem was in the hot side of the fixture or the ground side I shorted the ground side to the ground or negitive side of the battery and the light came on. I started looking for a poor ground and found it at the first connection as the wires leave the hood. A little cleaning and everything works fine.
Just squeeze both sides of the lense and pull. pretty easy. Just replaced the bulb in mine about a month ago works fine now. Took a Sylvania 561 LL bulb. Kinda clips in over two prongs.
