Hi, my AC is acting weird. And Yes, I did do a search before I decided to post. I did not find any concrete answers or solutions.
I have a 99 coupe with dual climate control. I have NO error codes. The driver side is blowing warm/hot air. The passenger side is cold. I can even turn the passenger side **** to HOT and it is still cold. But when I turn the driver **** to HOT, both sides blow hot air. I turn the driver back down to 60 and it is cold on the passenger but not cold on driver side. It seems like the driver **** is controling both sides but the driver vents are not cold. And the passenger **** does nothing.
I tried to do the reset by pulling the fuse as some have recommended on here. But it did not work. I also searched and some say it could be the driver actuator. Some also say it could be the main control unit.
What do you think? Any help or solutions is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
FWIW I had the same issue and while it is probably the actuator I bought a controller from an 04 and installed it...no more issues. The 02 and up have built in logic to overcome a bad actuator.
I figured it was easier than trying to get my damn hands up there to remove the actuator.
The drivers side controls both sides, the passenger side only adjust a few degrees one way or another, it only compliments what the drivers side is set for, hot or cold. If you have no codes, when did you last check your AC for proper level?
If you haven't, I would first start with that as low freon can cause the issues that you are having. If you are having an acutator problem I would think it would throw a code?

I just bought a 97 for my wife after driving it a short time it did this I went through the steps and reset everything and everything started working???
He mentioned that he did not have any codes in the original post. I have something that Bill Curlee sent me, if the above does not help I will see if I can find it and pm it to you later.

Thanks everyone for the input. There are no codes, so I don't think it is the actuator. I guess I'll check the freon level next. Hopefully that will solve the problem. I really don't feel like tearing into the dash to change actuator.
I am having the same problems. Thought it might be the climate zone itself but now wondering if someone can post a link to the steps to reset it. I have no codes either.
