My PL II arrived today after just 3 weeks and I installed it. Seems to work well it diffently changes the throttle response for downshifts. Seems to spin the tires a liitle more on the launch. I need better traction. It didnt run any faster in the limited 0-60 runs around town i did. But I think thats a traction control problem. I also thought the car would run cooler with it but it didnt. I have yet to dyno it. I am going to the track this week to give it a run. Also it seems to shift a lot firmmer now. Diffently a good mod I think at this point. Lets see what happen at the track. THanks to steve cole and richard at exit28 motorsports.
Re: power loader arrived today and installed. (y2k02c5)
did u have to disconnect the battery? i read in one of the pl reviews that the reviewer disconnected the battery....
You only have to disconnect the battery if your car will not start after powerloading it. Some cars need to have the PCM reset by unhooking the battery and other cars dont.
Re: power loader arrived today and installed. (Buckmaster)
You'll Like it!!!! No, I never disconnnected the Battery, your fine. I noticed a very immediate improvement when it was installed in my 2001!
This was a real SOTP and performance Improvement that me and even my wife (who could basically care less about the car) really noticed on our very 1st test drive .
Re: power loader arrived today and installed. (vstella)
I'm picking mine up today from FedEx!!!! I was in the GP from Exit 28. Ordered back in November!!!
To say the least i'm happy to have it! I'm not going to start ranting on Steve Cole. I know we all want our unit in a decent timeframe, but after reading vstella's post about his conversation with Cole, I can understand the situation he is in!
So with that i'll be posting my impressions of the modifications sometime next week. I plan to hit the track and do before & after loading runs!! It should be interesting
Re: power loader arrived today and installed. (Buckmaster)
Yep. I just receive a new powerloader after only 3-4 weeks on order from Exit28.
I read everyones posts about delays so I also bought a Hypertech. Now I have a question. Can I install the powerloader over my hypertech and then use my hypertech to reload the original programming? (I could do this when I needed to take the car in for service) Then, I could reinstall the powerloader.
What do you think?
I didn't notice too much of a difference with the hypertech. My engine temp stays around 200 now and each shift jars you a little more but besides that, there's no real difference. I'm curious to see how the powerloader compares.
Re: power loader arrived today and installed. (Vespa-Vette)
Vespa Vette......Steve's PLII will program over whatever you have now. But just know that you can't program over his program without some real experience with programming PCM's :chevy
Re: power loader arrived today and installed. (Speed-Racer)
I am writing in again to say this things kicks AZZZ!!!. I love the rolling acceleration. WOT from a stop is very impressive as well. I am going to send mine back to steve for a reprogram, just hope I can receive it in a timely fashion. I have 2.73 gears and am going to switch to 3.42 and maybe a TC. I havent made up my mind on the TC yet. Once again I really like the PL II and would encourge everyone with an A4 to get one.
Re: power loader arrived today and installed. (RG in Dallas)
Thanks again Richard. Dealing with your company has been a wonderful experience. I will be calling you for future orders. Do you guys have gears and TC available.
Re: power loader arrived today and installed. (golfman)
I recently had 3.42 gears installed in my 2002 A4 (originally had the 2.73's) and had the computer programmed for the gears. I am thinking of now getting the Powerloader II for some extra kick and had a nice talk with Richard at Exit 28. Wow what a really nice guy and quite knowledgeable. I would say anyone interested in this product, call Richard, you won't be disappointed.
