Low Oil Level

Low Oil Level
I changed my oil and filter yesterday in my 99 convertible.
Started car today, and low oil level message displayed int he DIC
Checked oil level, it was down a bit ( I probably didn't read dipstick correctly last night)
Added oil to get to full level on dipstick, but the low oil level message still appears.
There are no leaks, oil pressure is normal, and dipstick reads full.
Is there a trick to getting rid of the low oil level message once it appears, or is something else going on here?

I should have searched first, but a low oil level warning induced panic
I'll look underneath tonight. If it all looks OK I'll wait a bit to see if it resolves...maybe a stuck switch?
If not, I'll change it, but at least I won't panic while driving.
