When I go over bumps, theres a rattle in the dash that is driving me insane. I hate when things RATTLE in cars! It stops when i put a little pressure on the glass that covers the dash. It sounds kind of like one of the needles is bouncing off the glass. Anyone come across this? Any one have a fix? I dont really want the dealer ripping the crap outta my brand new car :mad
Is it in the center or on the outer edges. I have the service manual for 98s. I lived with a buzz under the hood @ii\\1100 RPM for 1 1/2 years. Found this section last weekend and !Buss Is Gone!. Hope I can help.
Got it typed before a response. Here goes.
Rattle from center of Instrument Panel (I/P)
Possible cause, the I/P pad attaching screws at the center defroster vent are loose.
Correction: 1. Road test while applying pressure to the vent area of the I/P pad and listen for the noise to stop. 2. Remove the center defroster vent and tighten the I/P pad attachment screws.
Rattle from the forward Outer Edge of Instrument Panel (I/P)
Possible cause, not enough insulator foam between the instrument panel and pad.
Correction: 1. Same as Road test above, but pressure in the location of the rattle. 2. Remove the I/P panel pad. 3. Install added insulation at the point of rattle to the underside of the pad.
Hope this helps, probably what the dealer would do.
GOOD LUCK.

I had the same problem, it was a annoying squeak, I took it to the dealer and they ripped out the dash and said some clips were missing. They wrenched it back together and all is good, even with the new T-1 sway bars.
