Hey that looks exactly like my Schumacher I've had for 15 years and it still works great. (used it on my C4 first)
When I lived in Michigan I'd hook it up when the first snow and toss on the car cover and leave it till we had a good rain in the spring to clear the salt off the roads.
I still use in here in Fl. when the car doesn't get started for 4-5 days.
I too have a Schumacher I installed on my boat back in 1997, still works, still does its job. Plugged in ALL THE TIME.
I got this from Sear's... plugs into the cig lighter which for me is very easy. Cost around $24.00
I have two of these and they look the same on the outside but work completely differently. One of them will cycle between charging and charged (amber to green) when fully topped off. The other one will just stay green (and never charge again afaik). I even returned it to swap it out because I thought it was broken. I also have a schumacker (sp) from wal-mart that I think has the same guts inside. I works the same as the die hard.

I have one on each of my Corvettes. My brother uses 2 for his boat batteries, my other brother has 2 for his quads, my nephew has one on his Vette . All are over 4 years old. 1 is 7 years old.... no issues... no failed batteries.
12 Volt Battery Butler $17[/SIZE] Zip: Corvettes Are All We Do! http://corvette-parts.zip-corvette.com/search?w=battery%20butler&year=
Battery storage float charger is designed for the maintenance of 12-volt wet or gel cell batteries that are stored or only used periodically.
Features include:
Keeps battery fully charged without over charging. The on-board microprocessor regulates the output voltage of the charger based on your battery's demands.
Designed for long term vehicle storage. Hook up to your battery, plug it into any wall outlet, and forget it (days, weeks, months even years).
Provides a safe, regulated minimum current charge (1/2 amp) to your battery to maintain its peak capacity. Once your battery has fully charged, the charger's output current to your battery will stop - then resume as soon as battery level drops.
Short-Circuit Protected. If, for a brief moment, you accidentally touch the 2 leads of this charger together, it will not damage the charger's internal circuitry.
Includes simple to read status indicators.
Designed for use on wet-cell, gel-cell or OPTIMA batteries.
Sounds like you and me both. I bought a case of 4 Deltran BT's less than 3 years ago and I have loss 2 of them in the past 3 months already. I just posted earlier today a post asking for vette owners opinions moving forward. Over whelming response (via other sites also) is that the CTEC 3300 is HANDS down the best.
I have been using mine for two years and it works amazingly well. I also have several friends who use it for their collector cars. It's actually on sale at 50% off this week!
Ps: I have checked the output over the last two years and it works as advertised.

Same one I use. Harbor Freight had a sale on them about six years ago for about $5.00. I bought three because I wasn't sure how long they would last. Have used one for six years and still have two unused ones in the garage.
Just thought I'd add my .02. After reading through this thread I bought a Deltran Battery Tender Plus. Well, after one month it is no longer working. I know these worked for a lot of people on here, but not for me. Anyway, ordered a CTEK today, probably should've just spent the money and bought one in the first place.
