"C1283" & Active Handling Warming Up

"C1283" & Active Handling Warming Up
Am consistantly getting DIC message, active handling warming up, service active handling, etc. Also code C1283 is being set. A/H light comes on in less then one mile of driving. Any ideas as where to start looking for a solution? TIA

I get this once in a great while. My understand is that the steering wheel needs to recalibrate the "center" of the steering wheel for the computer. If it persists, take it to the dealership for repairs. :yesnod:

This happens each time I drive the car, is very consistant. Also I prefer to do the work myself, if at all possible. I can't afford to spend time arguing with inept Chevy personell and put my car at risk.

I understand how you feel, if you have an understanding what is going wrong and what electrical components to replace.. you will not need the Dealership to fix your car. Good luck to you.
