Default Trans swap this weekend

Looked over patches writeup of a4 trans removal, just want to make sure there are no gaskets or seals that will be needed when doing the swap. i will be installing rpm stage 6 trans and precision converter.

I will be dropping the rear cradle and leaving torque tube in the vehicle most likley.

From the looks of it there are no gaskets or seals between trans and rear diff but i just want to make sure, as for the seals around the prop shafts would you suggest replacing these while diff is out? Thanks in advance i just want to make sure i have everything and its not stuck on the lift..

18 quarts should be more than enough i would hope for a4 complete fill with trans cooler and deep oil pan.

Any special instructions on realigning tt after removal?

Can I leave engine tilted back while drivetrain is out without it causing problems to firewall

Absolutely not. There are specific warnings in your service manual regarding the angle not to exceed, and support of the engine. Read through the service manual, and proceed with confidence.

Fluid capacity, with a stock pan, is just over 12 quarts.

Several write ups on the net for trans removal and install
basic info -----Remove/install trans and diff as one unit---Only 4 bolts hold the rear cradle on-
self alighning---A "pickle fork" needed to remove the lower ball joints---depneding on the age and mileage I would install new diff seals--cheap and easy--BIGGEST issues will be the brake lines--they seem to always get in the way and routing them is a mess when re-installing
Prefill the converter--Make sure it "snaps" in all the way and when intalling the converter to the trans-tighten the bolts slowly making sure there is always clearance between the flywheel and converter--When trans is completly tighened up there should still be about 1/4 inch space between the two and you then pull the converter out slightly to bolt it up---

Place a block under the engine to keep it from hitting the firewall. Do not use an impact gun to remove cradle bolts!
Be sure to have help for certain components......good luck
