Clutch install, do headers need to be removed?

02Z w 1 7/8 headers, do these need to be removed, or just loosened to install new clutch? If they do have to be removed, I want to have a new gasket ready to install.

Any recommendations on gaskets?

when i did my clutch you have to unbolt the headers, but can leave them hanging in the engine bay.... i have reused the stock gm gaskets with no problems

but new gaskets are cheap

pull the lower BH cover, if you can't........headers unbolted

every set I've seen require removal from heads

round port oem 97-00 or LS2 OEM GM MLS

the 01-04 are oval, won't work

Thanks, I was just researching and it seems that is the way to go, but are the one's made by other co.'s just as good as the GM? No problems using w 1 7/8 headers?

i reused stock gaskets twice and no problems. After 2 heat cycles i just retighten the bolts and never had a leak. They will probably have to be unbolted from the heads and then tipped down.
