Am in the market for a new clutch. Looking for some suggestions. I have a 02 ZO6 doing about 450 at the rear wheels. Might add up to another 100 hp sometime in the future. This is pretty much a daily driver as long as the weather is good up here the the Chicago area. Do not track the car. Just like to have fun with it you know kill a few mustangs and hemi cars.
I have an 01 Z with 450 RWHP that I do track. I used the 7.6 dual disc Fidanza and an aluminum flywheel. Great clutch. Even with the aluminum flywheel it's very streetable, but you might want to go with steel or billet flywheel to maintain a totally stock feel.
In your case I think I'd just stick with the LS6 clitch kit or maybe step up to the LS7 clutch kit. Some of th aftermarket stuff requires substantially more pedal effort and that could be a PITA for a daily driver.
I've had good results with the ACT street kit - rated to 750 lb ft of torque and so long as you get a flywheel that's properly surfaced it has clutch engagement as slick as the oem units.
I ran the Centerforce Dual Friction (rated at 550hp) for 6 months at 420rwhp then installed my STS kit and ran it for another 6 months at 520rwhp. No problems at all, feel like stock and grabs well.
I may be getting rid of mine to step up to a twin disk (McCleod or RSP?) as I hunt down 750rwhp........

I ran a Textralia z-grip (puck style) for 1½ years in my daily driver. It works great at the drag strip with sticky tires, but had too much chatter for my likes on the street. I swapped it for an LS7 clutch, which works great (as expected) for daily driving but it doesn't hold my 470whp very well at the drag strip.
So you have two variables to consider:
1) Duty: if primary use is daily driver and only want to test at the track every now and then you can get by with an LS7 or other single disk aftermarket clutch (stay away from the puck style). If you want daily driver and good performance at the drag strip, then step up to the twin disk clutches.
2. Budget: Low budget single disk. Baller, tax-refund kind of guy jump on a twin disk and have the best of both street and track manners.
McLeod RST dual-disk and your surfaced flywheel. Smooth, streetable, affordable and near-stock pedal feel.

I did a review of the Mcleod rst I just installed. I was coming from a Spec 3 with f1 racing 16lbs flywheel. I hated that clutch it was chattery and My left leg got a work out. It was good the first few months but just seemed not to perform for me after that. I switched to the RST/Steel flywheel combo and the differnece is night and day. No more leg workouts I actually think it's lighter then the stocker. Very little chatter, your grandma with a broken hip could engage this thing with no issues. Holds 850 torque. I love it and wished I would of done it the first time. You won't see many negative if any actually of the R series clutches from Mcleod. The others above I here both positive and negative. I got mine from HinsonSupercars
