Took it for a 2 hour ride Tuesday to have it tuned/dynoed. I noticed last night that there was a nickel size spot of antifreeze under the engine and a little around the top radiator hose. Wiped off the hose and took it for a 30 min ride, no more leaks. Hard to see but the spot on the ground did not appear below the water pump/top hose, it was further back.
Thoughts?
I had the exact same thing happen to my 97. It tuned out the the radiator had a crack in the plastic end cap right at the upper hose. Replaced the radiator a few weeks ago. Took a couple of hours. Not difficult if you want to tackle it!
I meant the upper hose at the engine.
Anyways, might have found it. When i looked at it today the neck to the top hose was moist. The clamp to the upper hose was attached at the end of the neck toward the radiator. Moved it close to the engine, drove it an hour, no leaks.
We'll see.
