I'mright in the middle of a exhaust project and I have been messing with a weld in X pipe trying to make it fit. Finally I have gave up and contacted a performance fab shop. They will make one for my car, however, I had to get the car there. The car was sitting with TPIS headers and the rest of the exhause was null. I drove the car 30 miles to the shop (all back roads) wiht open headers. The funny thing is there were no codes tripping. The car didn't run well, alittle slugish but no codes. This contradicts what people have said about missing O2 sensors and trouble codes.?
What year is your car? I've heard the '00 and up are more likely to trip codes, and sometimes even those take a day or so of driving before they get set
Your codes will not display the "check" light untill it codes three times or so. you can check the code history from you gage controls on the dash once you proform the button combnation that lets into the code display you can than delete them.
I just went through the same thing as you. I drove 8 mi. with
open headers and high flow cats to get my pipes welded together
and didn't get the check engine light util I got home. I don't
recomend you driving it until you get your sensors fixed because
you mess with the relearn procedure.
